transfer

August 22, 2011

hey. thanks for the wedding pics, it looks like everything turned out great. congrats sean and arin :) thanks for giving me a spot in the pics too, was it just me or was some of my skin sparkling? remind me where the honeymoon is. oh and now that you have two, which email address do you prefer me to send to mom?

so crazy week this week. first of all transfers are tomorrow and i'm outta here. i'm leaving roseville, i find out tomorrow at transfer meeting where i go and who my companion is. roseville was a good experience. i learned a lot. a ton. way more than i had expected. that's the beauty of asking the lord to guide your paths and help make you a better person. the not so beautiful part is the stretching that occurs in the process. the ends justify the means.

another crazy thing is the warren elders lost their car this week. their transmission went out so we ended up working with them for a few days. we spent a day in there area with our car and blitzed their area. then we all went to district meeting and finished the day blitzing our area. it was a neat experience, i haven't blitzed before. we were able to split up at times and knock out two lessons at once. plus they were able to help us out with some service in our area which was great because i'm still handicapped with my foot infection (more on that in a sec). we ended our super blitz by meeting up with the rest of the district on thursday morning for our district activity. we went to the detroit temple. it's been a (detroit) minute. that was a great experience, a good way to end the transfer and the time with this district. i even went through on crutches (more on that soon). sorta tricky.

so here's the news on the foot. it's still infected. i was on antibiotics for two weeks and they helped but they didn't solve the problem. so trying to get this problem taken care of with the red tape was kind of lame. i talked to the doctor who covers a bunch of missions and he gave me the antibiotics a few weeks ago. sort of sketchy only because he didn't actually look at the foot, just heard my description over the phone. and they thought antibiotics would just save me a trip to the doc. so 2 weeks later i finished the drugs and it's a little cleaner but not a lot of improvement. so i've been talking to the two podiatrists in the ward and the missionary doctor again this past week. a ward member gave me some old crutches to keep because i can't walk on it. long story short i'm going into see a doctor today. it worked out that our ward mission leader is one of those podiatrists so he's having me come in in about 20 min. he says it should be quick and easy, just numb it and go in and clean it out. sort of weird though, last night i was milking some of the fluid out and i saw something small inside the cut, like a tiny rock. i think that is the cause of the problem. i'm not annoyed or anything just a little exhausted, if i could just go into a doctor in the first place things would have been better.

but anyways, life is good. just sorta crazy lately. but transfers are tomorrow, i should be able to email tomorrow and tell you my new area info. hopefully i'll be back on my feet.

"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" (Isaiah 52:7)

love ya guys, elder lamb
